This is my very first post. I've been thinking about having a blog for years now and am going to give it a whirl. I'm being published!! The December/January issue of Quilting Arts will include an article I wrote about creating itajime fabric. This is a type of shibori resist fabric using clamps to hold the folded fabric tightly, so it resists the dye. Below is a photo of one of my pieces and a closeup of that piece. I used two wooden triangles clamped together over multiple-folded fabric. Then dye was applied and fabric cured. I love the unplanned interactions of the colors. They are delightful surprises!
